Fabric Friends

Lately I've been making some lovely new friends, out of bits and pieces of fabric and felt.
I've really enjoyed making them and think I'll make a few more very soon.

Above from left to right: Babushka (the daughter of a Russian showgirl), Creepy Steve, charlotte (who has told me she is a Pisces), and Vaughn (a Scandinavian environmentalist).

And then I made a few more! In the vanity case you'll find Vaughn (not to be confused with our dear environmentalist) Betty and Kinki Utsuri (the kimono clad Geisha).
The felt white rabbit was made by Gina from Ginas Studio in Muizenberg.

Mitsuko, my dear feline friend also took a liking to them, even though she did give Betty quite a rough time the other day, yet nothing my needle and a bit of thread cannot mend.

Cedarwood Dreams

Package design for South African organic incense cones by Pure Incense, Cedarwood Dreams. The incense cones are made from the Sacred Cedar Tree in the Baviaanskloof Mountains in the Eastern Cape.

Burning of Cedarwood is known for enhancing or getting in touch with individual spirituality. The medicinal properties of Cedarwood are also well documented, including aiding respiratory and rheumatic conditions. The fragrance is earthy, grounding and slightly sweet.

The Editions Show

The Editions Show is a group exhibition showing at Salon 91 in Kloof St, Cape Town, untill the 27th of August. I have two archival printed illustrations in the show and a print in the window......the girl in blue, red, black and white. It is causing me much glee to see my name in the window:} ....if you're in the area do pop in as it's a show worth seeing.
