Me made granny chic

I made myself a granny style outfit lately. I do so love granny chic! The skirt's made from a pair of curtains I found in a local charity shop, using a pattern I found in the same charity shop (I love a good charity shop!) the skirt pattern is dated from 1969. I used the curtain lining to make the top and to line the pockets.

I loved this fabric so much I had it hung over a door for about a month before using it, so I could get happy glimpses of it daily.....I still have half the fabric left, eep!

I'm a me made granny!

English Wild Flowers

When I was in England this last spring I filled a small sketch book with drawings
of the wild flowers I found while walking in the countryside.

I'm now embroidering these drawings onto fabric I dyed with turmeric.
I like the idea of embroidering onto hand dyed fabric and turmeric is the only
natural substance I've had success with so far....and anyway I find the yellow makes me happy.

I made some more rabbits this week-end. Warren calls them Space Bunnies, so I'm going with that...space bunnies!

The mohair rabbit and some crochet~

This is a Mohair rabbit (in case you were wondering)....I've made a few from the off cuts I buy from a local Mill. He's quite small when surrounded by all my crochet makes...
...but he's become a good friend.

Tea-party

Alice and the white rabbit having a tea-party, a favorite theme of mine. Painted to go in a group art exhibition that's part of the Muizenberg Festival. Much happens in this little seaside village, it's a very creative community.
